Owner, Elisa J. Kamens, is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. Elisa obtained her CPT certification from the Ohio State Board of Colleges when she attended the renowned National K-9 Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio. She is also a certified Veterinary Assistant, an Advanced Pet Sitting Technician, and a professional dog handler. Elisa has served as a caregiver to both people and animals for many years which more than qualify her as an expert in her chosen field.
Elisa has an unparalleled love for dogs that started when she was 8 years old and her father, Sheldon Kamens, brought home a German Sheppard named Hero that he trained with the police department. Since that time her passion for dogs has only grown stronger.
Her professional work with dogs began in Howard County as a dog walker. Her former business, Fuzzy Faces, was a direct result of her dog walking clients asking Elisa to take their dogs home with her. Doggie day care seemed like a logical way to combine her love for animals with her skills for keeping pets safe and happy. In fact, the business was so successful that she soon out grew her townhouse and had to move to a larger home.
You could say her present home has gone to the dogs since it was bought and renovated for the sole purpose of housing both her growing Papillon family and her growing business, Fuzzy Faces. Her thriving business and the growing need for pet care in the Howard County region gave birth to the idea for Club Pooche.
Club Pooche provides a safe and fun atmosphere for dogs to socialize and play with other dogs under the supervision of a caring staff. Elisa is supported at Club Pooche by her husband, Warren Armstrong, who is equally dedicated to the facility's mission. Currently they own six animals and their own Papillon breeding program which operates under the name of LeBijou Papillons.
Elisa's love for animals is readily apparent in her interactions with her pet clientele. She understands animals, which makes the pets in her care (and their owners) very comfortable. She actively supports several animal-related organizations, including the ASPCA, Howard County Animal Control, Papillon Rescue and Wildlife Support Organizations. Elisa is a member of Papillion Club of America. |
